90's Rental Remake

Last year our client purchased this home in Vancouver’s Wildwood Neighborhood with extensive flood damage (from the pervious owner) to the Kitchen Subflooring, Flooring and Cabinetry. Previously this home was used as transitional housing rental for a nonprofit until it flooded.

Going into this project we knew that we needed to immediately address all flood damage and moisture issues. Several truck loads of rotted wood were removed from the home and recycled at H and H Wood Recyclers where it will be repurposed into reusable landscaping materials. Each piece of wood waste was inspected, sorted and stripped of nails, staples, cabinetry hardware and hinges. Additionally, the cabinetry hardware and hinges were donated to the Clark County Habitat for Humanity Store. Although this process adds time, logistical costs and details to our projects, we are committed to properly recycling wood and waste materials whenever possible to reduce our carbon footprint because it’s the right thing to do.

Next up was the rebuild of the kitchen. During the rebuild process we replaced all of the kitchen’s subflooring, flooring, millwork, cabinetry and windows. The old Milguard Windows were also donated to the Clark County Habitat for Humanity Store.

This kitchen features new cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, hardware, appliances, flooring, windows and trims.

The kitchen and living space design in this home is unique because we used a gray color pallet- layering hues and saturated color with textures, dimensions, fixtures using modern and transitional accessories. The organization of this kitchen is very functional and provides space solutions such as pantry and drawer pull outs, a wine rack, cookie sheet storage and organizers for cooking pots and pans. sink provides additional accessories for a work station and the faucet is equipped to serve a dual function as both a pot filler and spray.
