Fence Building Workshop With Battle Ground High School

Bridge City Contracting hosted Battle Ground High School career and technical education (CTE) students to learn about the trades while building fences.

It was an absolute pleasure to teach CTE students with our community partners Parr Lumber, Miller Paint, Lowe’s Pro Supply and the Building Futures Foundation for our annual 2024 Student Workshop.

“Our goal for today was to create an event for students of Battle Ground High School … to really spark their interest and get them involved in learning about the trades,” said Elizabeth Gomez, founder and project manager of Bridge City Contracting. “One of the ways that we’re doing that is we have created a viable construction project that we are helping them with.”

A high school construction program like the one we have designed at Bridge City Contracting is a game-changer for students and the community. Construction offers hands-on projects, real-world results, and a practical alternative to traditional college paths.

Introducing students to construction trades can ignite their passion for building and create a skilled workforce for the future!
